JSS, Neal & Marco reunited on Fri, Jan. 5th for a jam at the annual ARF (Animal Rescue Foundation) Benefit Concert run by Tony LaRussa (coach of the 2006 World Series Champs, St. Louis Cardinals) & his wife in Walnut Creek, CA.

The band was rounded off by Jonathan Cain of Journey on keyboards & David Dzialak (JSS Band) on drums. Also onstage with the quintet was legendary sax player Mark Russo. The set comprised of an instrumental from one of Neal's solo albums, Boulevard Of Dreams, a Sly & The Family Stone medley (Stand, I Want To Take You Higher, Dance To The Music), James Brown's 'I Feel Good', Purple Rain, Papa Was A Rolling Stone & then were joined onstage by Journey bassist Ross Valory for Don't Stop Believin' & Separate Ways.

Also on the bill was Marty Casey (Rock Star INXS 2nd runner up) & Love Hammers & an All Star Band including Billy Cobham, Stef Burns, Mark Russo & other world reknown players.

December 19, 2006 -- Jeff Scott Soto has been officially named the new lead singer of Journey. He had been filling in for Steve Augeri, who had to leave the U.S. tour with Def Leppard shortly after it began on June 23 due to illness.

"We are so grateful to Steve for all the years he dedicated to Journey," says Journey in a joint statement. "We thank Steve for all his hard work and we wish him only the best in his future endeavors. Over the past few months, we´ve come to realize that Jeff has proven himself above and beyond that he can sing the hell out of our songs and we´re happy to officially welcome him as part of the family. We´re excited to start a new chapter with Jeff and we´re excited about what the future may bring."

Steve Augeri states: "Singing for Journey these last eight years have been the most challenging and the most rewarding of my career. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the band, and especially the fans, for the privilege of being part of a musical legacy that has touched so many hearts and souls. I wish my fellow bandmates success and happiness as they continue to make great music in the future, as I will strive to do the same myself."

Jeff Soto also adds, "With delight & pleasure, I am accepting the offer to continue my tenure with Journey now as their permanent vocalist after the amazing past months we've spent together on tour. I also pay high respect to Steve Augeri for coming in and helping Journey continue their legacy for nearly the last decade and to Steve Perry for co-creating this legacy. I hope to now add and help drive Journey into the next stage of this band's future."

NEAL CELEBRATES LES PAUL BIRTHDAY/JOURNEY IN SOUTH AMERICA

Neal Schon will join a cavalcade of A-lister guitarists onstage to celebrate the 90th birthday of the infamous Les Paul at the Gibson Amphitheater on Journey are confirmed Tue, Feb 7th.

Also, Journey are confirmed at the Festival de Viña del Mar in Chile on Feb 25th. There seem to be a number of dates that will be confirmed for Europe this summer as well, follow up at www.journeymusic.com.

ALL'S QUIET ON THE SIRKUS FRONT

The guys are still out fulfilling their 2005 commitments outside the SirkUS. Neal & Journey will be touring throughout Dec. now, Jeff will be extending his solo tour through South America beginning Nov 4. (coincidentally, his birthday!), Virgil is in Europe now doing more drum clinics throughout Europe & the US & Marco has just returned from Russia & Sweden with his jazz trio. NEW SHOW ADDED FOR JSS US WARMUP DATES

Jeff Scott Soto & band have just added another show prior to leaving for Europe mid August at Martini Ranch in Scottsdale (Phoenix) AZ on Friday, Aug. 12, which is the same venue Soul SirkUS played in April on their US leg. The show starts at 8PM SHARP & admission is a mere $5. Spread the word & lets get this place packed. A reminder that JSS will play on Sat. Aug. 13 at Paladino's in Tarzana, CA, show starts at Midnight.

THE SIRKUS CONTINUES....

Word in from Jeff he & Marco will be joining Neal on the road from time to time on this current Journey tour to start writing & working on new material which will used on the next SS album. Jeff will be out this week with Neal for a few days to go over some ideas already mapped earlier this year. No update on the 'official' US release of World Play yet but as they're already working on new stuff, the options are limitless as to what will decided once the deal is solidified.

FILLMORE DVD...ON HOLD INDEFINITELY!!

There have been many inquiries made about the live DVD shot at the Fillmore in San Francisco this year. We asked the band & were told there were a few factors making it so it might be later than sooner this show will be made available. Since the guys are on hiatus, business dealings have become slower yet there still other things in progress which may supercede this shows' release.

The Fillmore show now may be released at a later time as 'another' show is in the works to coincide with the (finally) official US release of the World Play CD to be shot later this year. 'We know there are many out there who still don't have it as it was only available at our shows (the version with Virgil) so it'll be comforting to know EVERYONE can find it at stores finally" says Soto.

No detailed info was given except this possible show later will be booked & shot for release 1st. We will fish for & keep you updated on any additional info we can get our hands on.

As everyone who knows of SS, it's no news that the Journey Generations Tour is in full swing now. Neal has not stopped stopped since returning from Europe, where he headed up to Vancouver mere days after landing home for final Journey mixes for the new album. From there, he started preproduction rehearsals for the tour, flew to NY for Les Paul's birthday bash/jam, back for rehearsals then he & Jonathan Cain flew out to Washington DC to play the Star Spangled Banner for the President, then back the morning of opening night of the tour in CA.

JSS has been keeping himself busy with tour plans overseas as well as filling the days with appearances with the Boogie Knights band. He will be with them at the following venues:

CD BOOKLETS...YET ANOTHER DELAY!!!

JSS has informed us with HUGE apologies to ALL the CD booklets that were promised many times have still yet to be shipped. It's the old 'if you want something done right...' thing that's been the reason for the delay & until tour manager Aaron Dilks gets back into SF this weekend, is when they'll finally be dealt with. Jeff adds 'we're sick about this silly inconvenience, we hope those who bought them are not too angry with us, if I were home, I would have done them MYSELF by now!'. The guys head back to the US on Friday wrapping up the 2005 World Play tour.

VENTURA THEATER SHOW CANCELED!

SS VISIT ON MARK & BRIAN CANCELED!!

There was a miscommunication with the folks at KLOS & the band regarding exactly what was expected during the scheduled visit on the morning of April 21. The band were expected to play with full gear setup & all but this was not made clear in advance. With the guys trudging through a hectic tour schedule as well as the crew overworked each city, it was made clear this task was an impossible one. The station took it somewhat negatively & canceled the visit altogether, even blaming the 'change of events' on JSS not being able to sing so early in the morning. As the guys would ONLY want to come off sounding as they're supposed to, of course this would have had a big affect on the performance having just finished a big home town show in LA with friends & family in tow, to go in hours later in top form would have been an improbability. The guys hope there are no hard feelings & such a visit can be rescheduled in the future.

A LITTLE CD SNAFU FOR THE US VERSION

With all the scrambling & preparation for the upcoming World Play tour, there was little time to realize there was a minor artwork problem with the manufacturer of the updated SS CD. The wrong format was used & the booklets must be redone/reprinted but this simply cannot be done on time for the 1st few shows on the tour so we were asked to inform you the CD WILL be still be available, just not with the artwork for the 1st week of dates. Those who purchase the CD will be asked to print their names & addresses at the merch table & will get the artwork mailed within 2 weeks, signed by the whole band. There is much regret in this inconvenience but it was the ONLY way to make sure you can get the music as well as the promised autographs at the 1st week's shows.

The 'full' version should be available from the Boston instore at Daddy's onwards.

Frontiers Records is immensely pleased to announce the release of SOUL SIRKUS debut album "World Play" over the European and Asian territories.

Deen hands over the baton to Virgil!!

Due to mutual agreement, Deen Castronovo has decided to step down as drummer for Soul SirkUS as the work load between both SS & Journey left him little to no personal/family time. World reknown Australian sensation, Virgil Donati (Steve Vai, Planet X) has stepped in & the band will begin touring to support their debut, World Play, in the Spring of 2005 before Journey embark on their summer tour.

Deen has expressed his feelings here with:"Oh my God, Virgil Donati SERIOUSLY kicks my butt!!! He is the most unreal drummer I have ever seen...this guy is a studied musician and does things on a kit I had never witnessed...with "this guy" in Soul Sirkus they are going to make some real noise in the music business. They couldn't have chosen a better guy - they just don't come any better than Donati."

Neal, Jeff & Marco wish their brother Deen well in the decision & are now all are content with the decision to forge ahead respectively. Deen will continue with his duties in Journey accordingly.

Sorry for the last minute news, Deen Castronovo has just come back from the emergency room diagnosed with dehydration & exhaustion, ALL dates are canceled as of 3:40PM, Tue Jan 4th.

Huge apologies for this inconvenience caused to all, we all woke up to the news that he was taken to the hospital after noticing his health was not all there the past few days & the news was just sprung on us minutes ago. Shows are being rescheduled for April.

There were many discussions as 2 how we could make it work, but every idea would have just prolonged the release date & we felt it more important 2 make it so even with the holidays upon us, everyone would get their orders filled with no further delays. Hello again...OK, here is a COMPLETE update on everything happening with the Soul SirkUS CD!!

1st, pre-orders taken in the past months before the Official Order Link was added will be checked & verified for the promised autographed copies. They are all in order of acceptance & will properly submitted, but please, no gripes or complaints if you feel your pre-order was within the original 1000, there were thousands that came in that 1st week & will be sorted correctly. It would be a massive chore for ALL of the CD's to be signed so if yours didn't get submitted on time, there will more than likely be a chance to have it done in person once the guys hit the road.

2nd, Overseas Orders...the 1st link for orders was made for US orders only as Warner Music weren't made aware of the importance in making it available overseas at this time until now. They have asked for all outside submitters be patient as in the next few days, this update/alteration WILL be made & the CD will be made available WORLDWIDE. Again, for overseas submitters within the 1st 1000, your original pre-order will be matched with your new official order accordingly, no need to worry about missing the boat if you were amongst the 1st.

3rd, please be aware the official shipping date is DECEMBER 7, 2004! Do not be confused on the order confirmation that you will receive it within the next 5-7 days if ordering now...this is in affect beginning Dec. 7, not before.

The final masters are DONE! All 11 songs are completed & mastered with the decision that this WILL be the debut CD. The guys have agreed to keep with the extreme hype, interest & demand of these songs, it will be manufactured & sold independantly during the course of getting attention from the 'right' label. The latest word is with the extension of the current Journey tour & plans to begin recording a new album as well as Jeff's solo world tour, there seems to be little time left in the year for the attentive West Coast dates recently discussed. No more speculative, only confirmed, info will be placed from now on. The earliest there wil be room to begin the Soul SirkUS invasion will be beginning of 2005.

We have been informed of 2 potential Soul SirkUS live dates in Nov. or Dec. The band are trying to find a 'hole' in their touring schedules to make their debut outing with 2 shows on the West Coast, Los Angeles & San Francisco, as '...a deal is right around the corner' with a worldwide label.

The 'long-promised' next batch of SS songs went through several re-mixing attempts that were not strong enough to be considered done, hence the delay. Problem is with Neal out with Journey & Jeff preparing for his tour, the mixes are being done without the scrutiny normally necessary, but word has been given to us they set aside the proper attention along with their engineer in Boston, John Ellis, & the samplers will be available for us by the 2nd week of August.

VH Debauchery - JSS has sent this message: 'There was never any intention 4 this whole VH vs. SS 2 occur, there are many rumors running about regarding the situation about the 2 shows we were 'hoping' 2 do with them on this current tour, but we respect the decision & have no ill will about it. It was only 2 shows & the ugliness ensued from this is unnecessary. Continued success 2 Ed, Sam, Mike & Alex'.

The new songs are completed now & we are told there will be samples coming here soon. Word is the 'buzz' on SS is strong within the industry now so the album should surface before year's end at this rate.

We are sorry to announce the 2 Soul SirkUS dates with Van Halen will NOT happen. The boys apologize to those who purchased tickets especially to see their debut outing. There was concern the dates would not be fully committed as there the was a 'factor' to get through. We are not obliged to reveal the meaning behind this decision, just days after the announcement of the dates, but you are likely to find the reasons throughout the many internet outlets discussing this situation. Soul SirkUS will emerge with future dates once their personal schedules permit.

The buzz is out & the band are officially accepting major offers to launch Soul SirkUS very soon. Word is the band may hit Europe for some dates following Jeff's solo tour (mid-November 2004) if schedules permit. The next batch of Soul SirkUS songs are now in the bag & being mixed by ace engineer, John Ellis, in Boston. Also recorded at Jon Cain's studio, the titles 'Another World', 'Friends 2 Lovers', 'New Position', 'My Sanctuary' & a redone version of the Planet Us track, 'Peephole' are the new tracks which we'll have samples posted here in the next 2 weeks. There is also a 'major' interest in the band/album. Keep checking this space for daily developments.
